KOSMONAUT (Pavel Holeček) entered the world of electronica music in an unusual way. Since 2000 he has been intensively engaged in sculpture and abstract painting. He is constantly developing and realizing his ideas of sculpture/object until he reaches the point where his abstract sculptures full of motors, sensors, switched midi controllers, potentiometers and electronics in general are able to convert touch into any electronic sound. At this point, it was necessary to convert the painting studio into a music studio with analog synthesizers and create floating pre-programmed ambient sound compositions. These can be manipulated in real time just by playing the sculptures. Sometimes it’s a panoramic abstract sound cinema with bio organic layered sound, but in a while it can instead be beautiful melodic contemporary electronica with a complicated beat. All controlled in real time by the Cosmonaut playing “ONO” on abstract sculptures. The performance also includes a DMX synchronized light installation. KOSMONAUT is a unique audio light show that musically moves somewhere between chillout, down tempo and sound abstraction. The performance features a unique stage presentation. Some of the music is created on the spot by playing on sculptures that are full of motors, pickups, switched midi controllers, potentiometers and electronics in general. They are able to convert touch into any electronic sound. And so by punching and turning the various elements of the sculpture, an organic panoramic soundscape is created, wide soundscapes with intricate rhythms. The performance also includes a DMX synchronized light installation and Cosmonaut delivering a message hidden in many layers of sound.
